Layers of vibrant green, emerald, turquoise, and deep blue flow vertically through Brand New Day, shifting from areas of light and brightness into deeper, moodier tones. Soft washes meet long, fluid lines, creating a sense of rain, reflection, and something just beginning to emerge. There’s an energy to this piece that feels both peaceful and alive—like that moment when the light starts to break through.
For me, Brand New Day is about possibility. That feeling of waking up and realizing that whatever happened yesterday doesn’t have to define what comes next. While listening to Sting, the greens and blues began to build on one another, and the painting took on this feeling of renewal—of moving forward, beginning again, and being open to whatever the next day brings.
This piece is part of a series created from the same green and blue base palette, with each painting taking on a completely different personality.
